Harvest Labour Services
HLS (Harvest Labour Services) is designed to meet the labour requirements of growers by recruiting and placing workers in harvest jobs and mobilising job seekers from locations outside of harvest areas as required. Under the HLS system, workers include anyone that is legally entitled to work in Australia (e.g., working holiday makers visa holders).

Mareeba Q.I.T.E. is the hub of HLS, but those seeking harvest labour can contact the Innisfail and Atherton offices of Q.I.T.E. also. Mareeba is the largest town on the Atherton Tablelands. It is 63km inland from the city of Cairns. Irrigation for the sugarcane and other fruit crops is taken from the Tinaroo Falls Dam. Coffee, mangoes and avocados are the other main crops.

Atherton is 94km south west of Cairns also in the Tablelands area of Far North Queensland. There are substantial dairy and crop areas with maize, peanuts, potatoes, avocados and citrus. Innisfail is located at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers. It is 1632km north of Brisbane and 83km south of Cairns.
